BRAZILIAN WAX

• Before waxing, the hair should be at least half a centimeter long. On average, this means that you do not shave or cut your hair 2 to 3 weeks prior to the treatment.

• Make sure not to schedule your appointment just before or during your period. The skin is then extra sensitive.

• Make sure the skin is completely clean before the treatment. Light exfoliating beforehand is good for removing dead skin cells.

 

A full Brazilian Wax at our salon in Amsterdam takes approximately from 30 minutes to 1 hour; depending on hair type and density. With a brazilian wax there is no burning sensation that occurs when shaving or epilating.

• The skin and hair are disinfected to protect against irritation.

• A soft powder is applied so that the skin will not stick to the wax.

• The special beeswax is applied to the skin with a special spatula. The wax will then sit on the hairs and form a slice that will be removed by the specialist at considerable speed.

• After waxing, a special cleaning lotion is used to remove the residual resin residues. This lotion closes the pores and nourishes and softens the skin.

• After this, a cooling gel is used to cool the skin and prevent redness. The ingredients such as Aloe Vera and glycerine keep the skin wonderfully soft.

 

Aftercare is almost as important as the treatment itself. For optimal results, we have a number of advice below:

• Make sure to keep the skin clean, but avoid harsh rubbing.

• Avoid heat. So do not shower too hot, do not go to a sauna or solarium and wait a day before exercising.

• Do not wear too tight or non-breathable clothing for the first 24 hours.

• Do not use greasy creams or perfumed products for the first 24 hours.

• Do not go out in the sun again until after 24 hours, using a sunscreen with a high protection factor.

• After about 3 days after the treatment, it is advisable to lightly exfoliate the skin about 3 times a week. This is to prevent ingrown hair.
